Build Number

Post by decomposed05 » 04 Jul 2013, 08:36

W zamian za zasługi, na prośbę użytkownika "Bergenga" w karcie pojazdu został wprowadzony build number.
:)
Niedługo się to uwzględni w wyszukiwarce pojazdów.

Co to dokładnie jest ten Build Number? Końcowa część VINu? Kolejny numer wyprodukowanego pojazdu liczony od początku produkcji danego typu?

Posłużę się cytatem Oyvinda:
As you may have noticed, I started several years ago to add build numbers to buses in the information field. I guess build numbers for the body manufacturers don't mean much to you, but for us who are used to separate chassis and body builders, it is almost as important as the chassis number.
So what I wish for is an optional field in the vehicle profiles. Best position would be just beneath the chassis number field. It would not need to be visible in the vehicle lists, only when you look at the vehicle itself.
Build numbers are really quite common. Nearly all small manufacturers in Northern Europe building on chassises use (and used) them. All Volvos built in Sweden, Finland and Poland have them. All Scanias have one that is centralized, and in addition some, like OmniExpress, have one from the factory. All MAN (and current Neoplan) have, maybe except those built at Göppel. All Van Hool and nearly all VDLs have.
...
On Vest, Arna, Drögmöller, most Carrus it is a number that at some time started at 1 and has 4 digits. Most of them closed when build numbers were somewhere between 4000 and 5000.
Carrus Delta (Volvo Turku) started many years ago with numbers at 140000 something, then just skipped to 9000 in the 1990s. In 2004 they reached 9999 and went to 6000 and from 2010 they made a new system that shows as 1001-1, where 10 is the year, 01 is the order of that year and -1 is the item in the order of exact similar buses. (I don't bother explaining it more, as it is not relevant. )
MAN and Neoplan have numbers with model numbers like R07, A21, P12 followed by four digits, so it could be R071234, A214321, P160006, etc.
Volvo Säffle and Volvo Poland have numbers with their first letter, S and P. Then the year of order with two digits and then the bus number of that year with four digits, so it will be like P076352, S090021 and so on.
Scania's centralized build numbers are currently like 417094. They started on 410000-something around when Omni-models were introduced
If you need more examples you could look at "serial number" on fotobus.msk.ru for some of these models, but be aware that many people have added only the last part of the VIN there, as they don't know how it works.
