Przykład:
SUU241161DB012817:
Hersteller Solaris Bus & Coach
Typ Urbino 12
Motor DAF
Modelljahr 2013
Baujahr ab 2009
Fahrgestellnummer SUU 2 4116 1DB 012817
SUU241160DB012386
Hersteller Solaris Bus & Coach
Typ Trollino 12
Motor Elektromotor
Modelljahr 2013
Baujahr ab 2009
Fahrgestellnummer SUU 2 4116 0DB 012386
SUU241163DB012042
Hersteller Solaris Bus & Coach
Typ Urbino 12
Motor Cummins
Modelljahr 2013
Baujahr ab 2009
Fahrgestellnummer SUU 2 4116 3DB 01204

SUU2411617BPN1470
Hersteller Solaris Bus & Coach
Typ Urbino 12 / Trollino 12
Motor DAF
Modelljahr 2007
Baujahr 2007
Fahrgestellnummer SUU 2 4116 17B PN1 470
Tutaj też jest DAF, czyli 1 i 7 oznaczają silniki DAF-a, zapewne inne.

I'm the one who sent the email. Thanks Krzychu for your answer. So, with the VIN, there is no way of knowing which DAF engine an Urbino has, but at least I can know, with the VIN, if it has a DAF, Cummins, etc. engine (though I can recognize that with the sound of the engine).

So if I understand correctly, if there is 61 in the VIN, the bus has a DAF engine ; if there is 60, the bus has an electric motor ; if there is 63, the bus has a Cummins engine. Is that right ?

Also, what part of the VIN indicates the year of manufacture ?

Thanks. ;)

Yes, it's right.
There is 9. sign (digit) in the VIN-number of Solaris buses indicates manufacturer of engine. Curiosity: 1 = DAF and 7 = DAF too. :)
10. sign in the VIN-number of many buses and cars indicates the year of manufacture, i.ex.: M = 1991, X = 1999, Y = 2000, 1 = 2001, 9 = 2009, A = 2010, E = 2014, etc.: http://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_Id ... ion_Number

There is explanation of the VIN-numbers of Mercedes-Benz busses: http://www.fahrzeuglisten.de/fgninfo/fgn-db.pdf

Thanks a lot for the explanations ! :)

Also, it is indicated in the Solaris Urbino brochure (the Euro 5/EEV one, not the new Euro 6 one) that the 266 kW DAF PR265 engine is available for the Urbino 12, but I've never seen any pictures, videos, or Phototrans info (http://phototrans.net/09,17,0.html%22) mentioning it. Are there any Urbino 12 buses equipped with the PR265 engine running anywhere ? Or is the brochure wrong, meaning that the PR265 is not available for the Urbino 12 ?

Does anybody know if there is any information about engine and gearbox written somewhere inside Solaris Urbino 12 bus? This question is about new Vilnius CNG buses: http://phototrans.eu/2415,14587,8236.html

I thought that engine is Cummins, but in the motor section I didn't find anything, which could confirm that. In fact, there was nothing of that kind... I found only VIN code (thats nothing special) and few completely irrelevant texts (name of manufacturers of certain parts) and... this: http://i57.tinypic.com/eg2yj6.jpg - what could IVECO mean?

Facts, that are currently known:
engine - 213kW, 7800 cm3;
gearbox - Voith.
http://www.fahrzeuglisten.de/vindb/index.php decoder doesn't recognize our vehicle VINs.

Just in case, if plate can make a difference: http://i57.tinypic.com/2rnx64y.jpg

P.S. you can reply in Polish - I will understand that.

Maybe it's another (CNG) version of Iveco Cursor 8 F2BE0682 (http://www.phototrans.eu/07,402,0.html)
Technical details are similar.;)

Do you have a video of your new Urbino buses ? I will be able to recognize if it is an Iveco engine by the sound of it.
Also, there is 'IVECO' and 'Made in Italy' written on the engine featured in your photo, so there are a fair amount of chances that it's an Iveco engine.

Albo Urbino 12 0E55GG01I01311 i Urbino 18 00E03DA. Czemu W69 może być, a 0E55GG01I01311 nie?
